This doll is such a charmer, I just don’t know where to begin.  So, for brevity’s and time’s sake I’ll start with a description.

This old girl stands 17 ¾ inches tall, and is approx. 4 inches across the shoulders and is both hand and treadle sewn.

Fashioned out of natural homespun linen and stuffed with cotton batting, her “hair”  and shoes are fashioned of  a dark brown homespun linen.  She is wearing her original hand sewn brown checked linen dress and apron with a hand sewn natural chemise underneath.

Now, for her character:  her minimal yet expressive facial features are penciled and give her a whimsical and very loveable countenance.  Sometimes she is a little worried looking, sometimes excited as if she’s got big news to tell you.

I purchased her years ago at the Mid-Week show in New Hampshire out of a dealer’s private collection.  She’s been in mine ever since.

Full of whit and whimsy, she’s just waiting to be introduced to her country cousins who reside in your home!
