This is another very favorite piece of mine.  It’s always hung in my dining room, but since the redecorate there isn’t any room for it.

It’s a wonderful and very folky piece, the dimensions of which are as follows:

The scalloped back measures 12 inches at its peak, tapering to 8 inches on both sides; the front piece is 7 inches high by 5 ½ inches deep.  The entire piece is 16 inches wide.  It is fashioned of ¼ inch pine board and still retains its original paint decoration which has patinated and crazed consitent with its age.  It dates to the last quarter of the 19th C.

This is a piece that speaks for itself in WOW factor.  It’s got everything going for it: scalloped edge, cut-out stars, apple green and creamy yellow paint as well as a great surface.

It was purchased out of Lancaster County, PA years ago and has been a focal point of my wall box collection since that time.

Now that there isn’t any room on the wall for it, I’ve decided to find it a good home rather than have it sit in a cupboard.  My loss, your gain.
