With dolls, it’s all about the appeal to one’s heart.  This gal appealed to both my heart and sense of whimsy!

Standing a mere 5 inches in height, she is entirely hand made.  When I first purchased her I thought her head was made out of papier-mâché but, on closer examination, I found tiny stitch marks joining the front and back.  So, obviously, her head is oil paint over cloth.

The rest of her body is cloth and her clothing is fashioned of green silk and lace and is entirely hand sewn to fit her body.

I think the thing that really made me love her were here accessories: the amber glass heart she wears at her neck, the amber glass buttons on her dress and belt buckle, her white leather gloves as well as her patterned stockings and painted leather shoes.

Found in New England, she is very much a “Lady” and, as such, requires a special place in your collection.
