This tiny creature is more than just a church doll. She is one of the most skillfully made corn cob dolls I have ever had the privilege to own.

Measuring a whopping 5 inches in height, she is as dear as dear could be. Her construction is such: her corn-cob body is covered in homespun linen and has attached rolled arms and legs. She has incredibly detailed inked facial features, as well as a stitched pinched nose, lips and facial outline. Her floss hair is the “icing on the cob” so to speak. Her rolled legs are covered in black silk “stockings” and her black wool boots have meticulously stitched laces.

She is dressed in her original slip and pantaloons. Only more we could ask for would be her original dress, which is long gone.

She is very New England in construction and was purchased from a private collection.

Charming, and full of wit and whimsy, she is a stellar piece to add to any collection!
