This guy is a wonderful old guy that's been with me a long time. This cloth crow decoy is made out of polished cotton and is stuffed with rags. He's got two painted white circles for eyes and, because he really was a decoy, there is a metal eye in his tail that was used to string him to the rest of his clan. He has his original bent iron legs which slip into his lower body (via the slit used for stuffing) that gives shape to his tail. Dating to around the 30's or the 40's, he's in excellent condition.

I've only had one other in my collecting lifetime as these pieces did not survive weathering too well. It's obvious this one was never used.

He measures 16 inches in length and sits about 11 inches high when propped or placed in a stand. It is not a free-standing piece as these were obviously meant to be dug into the ground by their iron legs. His face is made quite whimsical by his slightly exaggerated beak. He is the real McCoy and a “must have” for the “die-hard” crow collector.
