I simply adore this pair of infant’s shoes. So much so that I had put them on a cherished cloth doll. I have since found a pair that are more suitable to her attire and am now offering them for sale.

Measuring a diminutive 4 inches from heel to toe and not quite 2 inches high, they are entirely and painstakingly hand-sewn out of a warm brown leather. The interior of the uppers are lined with a natural homespun linen while the soles are a dark brown leather. I do not believe the laces are original.

They are in excellent condition with signs of very minor wear appearing not to have been worn much, and the leather is soft and supple. They date to around 1840 – ’50.

These shoes are great for a large and beloved cloth doll, but look just as wonderful sitting on a table among a grouping of early children’s items.
