This is a favorite table piece of mine, although it looks good wherever you display.

This Canada Goose decoy has a hollow body (see photos) and is crafted of what appears to be pine. She measures a little over 24 inches in length, is 15 inches tall and about 10 ½ inches wide. Her condition is that of a working decoy (see photos) and she looks to be in her second (but old) repaint. There is a nice patina where the wood has been exposed due to wear.

She has a split down her back (see photos) but it does not appear to have caused her to be unstable as her body is nice and tight. Her neck is a little loose, but very stable. It is attached to the underside in old wood block and screw fashion. She came to my that way, and I never found the need to tighten it further as it is not in any danger at all of coming loose. In fact, the screw and nut are rusted into place after years of working in the water. As mentioned she has a slightly hollowed-out body with a board across.

She was purchased from the same Virginia collector that the clock shelf came from, but was originally found in New England. Age: late 19th/early 20th C.

I've always loved her as she has a soft and very graceful countenance. She graced my dining room farm table for years. I am now offering her to grace yours.
