What can I say about this beguiling creature?  Except that he is a wonderful example of Southeastern Pennsylvania Folk Art.

Measuring a mere 3 inches long (not including his 3 inch tail), he stands not quite 2 ¾ inches high.  Fashioned out of brown velvet and stuffed with cotton, he is entirely hand-sewn and retains remnants of red cotton floss around his nose and eyes.  His eyes appear to be “mourning” pins and are original as well.  He is in excellent condition with no rips, holes or tears.  He retains 100% of his velvet nap which tells me that he was not at all played with, so he might possibly have been a “shelf sitter” as many of these “pretties” seem to have been.

I’ve listed two other mice on this site before; this one is of a different form than both of those.  Charming and quite wonderful, he’s would be a great addition to a collection of these endearing cloth creatures – especially one that has a cat just looking for a playmate!
