This is a piece that has been hanging in my bedroom, after being drug out to a show or two.  I can’t seem to part with it, but know that I can’t keep it all!  That having been said, I must say that it’s the feel and very folky nature of the piece that appeals to me, as well as the soft color scheme.

Measuring 28 inches wide by 18 inches high, it is hand hooked in wools and cottons on a burlap ground and has a bound edge.  It is in excellent condition with no rips, holes, tears or mends, and has been professionally mounted by K Wilson and Co.  It dates to the late 19th C and was found in Maryland.

What I so dearly love about the piece is the folkiness of the house, complete with gingerbread points hanging from the roof.  The colors are also to love: warm and subtle browns, tans, grays and slate blues for the most part with black, salmon, pale yellow and red here and there.

This looks great anywhere it is displayed!  In my bedroom, for the time-being, until it makes the trip from my house to yours!
