Here’s a creature that makes you smile when you like at it. A very naïve cloth interpretation of a barnyard pig.

Measuring 10 inches long from tip of nose to tail and 7 ½ inches tall, this creature is treadle and hand-sewn out of a fabulous brown and tan striped wool. He is solidly stuffed with cotton batting and still retains his original shoe button eyes.
In excellent condition, he has one small patch of wear (not threadbare) where you can glimpse of his cotton batting through the wool strands

His uniqueness is exacerbated by that which he is fashioned out of: striped wool fabric. You don’t see this too often. He is out of my private collection of striped and printed creatures that I have put together over the years. He was purchased from a private collection and went directly into mine. I now have decided to let him go.

He’s quirky and charming, and an excellent example of this form of folk art.
