This is a piece that I have had in my house for years and was purchased at a sale in Southeastern Pennsylvania.  This wall box served both as a candle and wick box, and is a truly great primitive piece.

Fashioned out of pine, it measures 10 ½ inches tall by 10 inches wide by 3 ½ inches deep.  It has lot of old surface and grunge, the kind of stuff we like to see, as well as proper oxidation of its cut nails.  It has several layers of paint that can be seen, from apple to Windsor green to the surface you now see: gray. The candle till is about 2 inches deep and the wick till is about ½ inch.

Wall boxes such as this are not that easy to come by anymore, especially in such great surface. It looks great in a primitive cabin, or a more formal farmhouse.
