Old Woman In A Shoe Pen Wipe

If you like pen wipes, you will really like this rendition of the old nursery rhyme about “…an old woman who lived in a shoe who had so many children she didn’t know what to do…..”

Measuring 4 ½ inches long by a mere 2 inches high, it is in very good condition.  The shoe is velvet with red and blue wool poms.  Sitting therein are 3 bisque and china frozen Charlottes wrapped in linen cloth.  Behind them lurks a large papier-mache head with very distinct wrinkles and facial features, dressed in a net and lace period bonnet that still retains its original satin ribbon.

The rug or actual wipe itself consists of 3 wool leaves.

Whimsical and quite unique in construction, it is a “must have” addition to a serious collection of penwipes but also makes a strong presence as a single work of folk art.
