Recently I went through my “drawers of tins” that have not seen the light of day in a very long time.  Since I am getting rid of the drawers, I must display and (since I don’t have enough room to display them all) sell off some of the tins.

This tin has been among my favorites and has been displayed, so I thought I would pass it along to make room for another.

Measuring 5 ½ inches high by 7 inches wide by 1 ½ inches deep, it is fan-shaped and is decorated with kitties.  The embossed tin top has 2 a chromo litho of 2 white kitties looking at a bowl full of flowers, while the sides are colorfully embellished with a garland of cats’ heads among flowers.  It has a hinged side open lid.

Condition is very good with signs of wear attendant with age and use (see photos).  Although not marked, it is English in origin.  Age: Late 19th C.

I purchased it years ago from a British dealer who used to set up at the Atlantiques City Show.

As tins and cats pieces go, this one makes a great and unusual display.

Price: SOLD
