I’ve been going through my inventory of various and sundry wig and hat stands, shoe stands, cake stands and show props and have decided to downsize it a bit.

I’m starting with a pair of stands (bought separately, so I’m selling them separately as well) that are truly outstanding in form, color and size.

Stand # 1:  Measures 13 ½ inches tall with a 12 inch diameter pedestal on an 8 inch diameter base.

Stand # 2: Measures 10 ½ inches tall with a 12 inch diameter pedestal on a 7 ½ inch diameter base.

Both pieces retain their original black paint with appropriate crazing and surface grunge in spots attendant with age and use.  The smaller of the two has a bit of loss on an area of the base, but that does not detract from its character.  Both bases are nicely turned, as is the pedestal shaft and appear to be hand-done.  It’s hard to tell the type of wood that was used but it looks to be 2 ½ inch pine. I date them to the last half of the 19th C although they might be even  earlier.

They were purchased in New England years ago.

Over the years, I simply cannot tell you how very many times I have been asked to sell these stands.  I simply did not want to give them up at the time.  Oh well, time to let go.  They’ve also come in handy other than for display at shows,  making a great display on a tables set for holiday feasts as well.

Price: BOTH SOLD
