This is a nice example of a time gone by when most houses were without central heat and one was as warm as the layers and types of fabrics one wore.

Please note that the color is a nice red, not an orangey red that might show up on some screens. I've tried to capture its true color, but I am sometimes told that red items appear orange if the resolution of the photo or quality of the screen is not sharp enough.

This red/black wool woman's petticoat 37 inches in length (includes the wool lace) and has a 28 inch waist. It's got a muslin waistband and is machine-sewn with hand finishing. It has got a few very tiny moth nips here and there (hard to find clothing this age without them). Other than that, it is in very good condition and makes for a stellar display any time of year.
